This thesis introduces the background on current cancer epidemiology and the pain point of cancer surgery during Chapter 1 to Chapter 2. Then, in Chapter 3, a literature review on the current cellular imaging technologies is introduced. In Chapter 4, details of the technology –– CHAMP microscope are described, including the technology principle of the hardware and software. Also, preliminary data from the CHAMP microscope is shown, and a competitive analysis is conducted among our potential competitors. In Chapter 5, the CHAMP microscope is transformed from a concept of technology to a product to better serve the users’ human value. Under the guidance of Luisa Mok, Oscar and I applied the design methodology to gradually develop the CHAMP microscope’s design concepts. Chapter 6 is the business plan of PhoMedics, which reveals the company development history and the future business plan. Also, in Chapter 6, the potential market size of the CHAMP microscope is researched and projected.
