A convenient method for synthesis of platinum bis(acetylide) complexes
Pt(C≡C(OH)Ph
2)
2(dppf) (56) and [Pt(C≡C(OH)Ph

2(bpy)] (57) was developed. The UV-vis
and photoluminescence (PL) spectra of complexes Pt(C≡C(OH)Ph
2)
2(dppf) (56) and
[Pt(C≡C(OH)Ph
2)
2(bpy)](57)in the presence of different metal cations were studied. For the
five metal cations (Cu
2+, Mg
2+, Ca
2+, K
+, Zn
2+), only Cu
2+ enhanced the adsorption intensity
and quenched the luminescence intensity when mixed with complexes Pt(C≡C(OH)Ph
2)
2(dppf)
(56) or [Pt(C≡C(OH)Ph
