Abstract
Fluid power control systems are widely adopted in modern industries, especially for discrete parts manufacturing. They are used in welding operations, machine tools, braking systems, material handling and so on. Available design tools emphasized on drafting and analysis. Little work has been done in the aspects of automated fluid power system design. This research proposed a framework of the automated design for the fluid power control systems. An object oriented modeling methodology, Object Modeling Technique, is adopted to model parts of the framework, which acts as a road map for system development and future extension. A prototype of this system was implemented and pure pneumatic domain was selected as a testbed. Two design examples were given for illustration.
