Abstract
Let G be a connected and simply connected complex simple Lie group and H be a subgroup of G. Denote by g and h for their respective Lie algebras. We may use Killing form to identify coadjoint orbits with adjoint orbits. Brylinski and Kostant classified all simple Lie algebra pairs which share adjoint orbits[5]. We derive branching laws for these pairs which say how irreducible nth Cartan power of the acljoint representation of G decompose over H by using the famous Borel-Weil Theorem.
