Abstract
In this thesis, a transmission system is proposed to allow the vulnerable compressed images to be reliably transmitted through the fading channels. Two techniques are introduced: (1) block shuffling[13] to make error concealment more effective and (2) adaptive interleaving[l4] to adaptively change the interleaving depth such that bursty errors are randomized and become correctable by the embedded Forward Error Control proposed system permits some well-known standards to changing the source coding algorithms. Using JPEG[l] (FEC) scheme. The be employed without coded images and a simulated fading channel, the robustness of the proposed system over a wide ranges of operation conditions is confirmed.
