Abstract
Two massive admiralty charts of the China Sea first issued in 1859 with additions and corrections in 1863. The southerly section shows the coasts of Southeast Asia from Singapore to Saigon with the islands of Borneo and Palawan. The northerly section shows the coasts of Indochina, China, the Pearl River estuary, the northern Philippines, and Taiwan. They show detailed depth soundings as well as the different sea routes between the colonial outposts of Singapore and Hong Kong during the seasonal monsoons. This uncommon pair of slipcase charts are in their original red morocco bindings with official government crest
