Abstract
A rare sea chart, it was published in the collection of voyages, "Relation de Divers Voyages Curieux", by Melchisédec Thévenot. This map is one of a number included in the book, copied directly from Portuguese Portolan charts produced by cartographer João Albenaz Teixeira in Lisbon in 1643. The Portuguese authorities guarded these charts with great secrecy. It is one of the few printed copies of Portuguese charts.
