Abstract
For a simple lattice, we expect a probing wave of wavelength much larger than the lattice scale length will "see" the lattice as a completely homogeneous media. The probing wave can detect the inhomogenity when its wavelength is comparable to the lattice scale length However, when disorder is introduced, the electrons will be localized in 1D and 2D. The localization length of the electron can be much larger than the lattice scale length. In this research, work is done to investigate the response function in order to understand whether the input probing wave could "see" the inhomogeneity of a disordered system when the probability wave is of wavelength much longer than the lattice scale length, but of the same order as the localization length of the electron.
