Abstract
This unique engraved map is centered on China, but also shows the Malay Peninsula, northern Borneo, the Philippines, the Korean Peninsula, and Japan. Its interesting features include the Great Wall, an accurate depiction of the course of the Yellow River, delineations of the 15 Provinces, and an inserted table showing different administrative and regional divisions in each province. This provincial information appears to be derived from Luo Hongxian's revision of Guang yu tu. Note that the first Jesuit mission and church in China established at Zhaoqing in Guangdong by Ricci and Ruggieri is shown in profile and annotated in Latin "ecclesia patrum societatis"
