Abstract
There is strong desire of low power and high integration monolithic wireless transceiver systems in recent decades. A 2.4GHz hybrid FH/DS CDMA direct conversion transceiver system [9] is designed for low power wireless transceiver in telemetering application. A special architecture of the mixer has been designed using this system. The new RF mixer has combined up and down conversion functionality in the same circuit. This combination can further simplify the system. The mixer was fabricated by TSMC 0.35μm CMOS technology. The measured down conversion gain is 12dB and the up conversion loss is 15dB with 3V supply. Its noise figure is 12dB and its IIP3 is -1dBm in down conversion and 3dBm in up conversion. The total power consumption is 8mW. The active area of the mixer is 100μmx150μm....[

In conventional CDMA systems, the despreading process is done by high speed DSP. The despreading process increases the burden of the DSP. The analog multiplier was designed for helping the despreading. It was fabricated and tested with the same technology used in mixers. Experimentally, the gain of the multiplier is 15dB and the IIP3 is 3dBm. The total power consumption and the supply voltage are 1mW and 3V respectively with an active area of l00μmx75μm.
