2) (X = B, C or D) are catalytically active for allylic amination of 1,3-diphenyl-3-acetoxy-1-propene (42) with benzyl amine, pyrrolidine, dimethylamine with optical yields up to 97 %ee. These ligands are also catalytically active for allylic alkylation of 42 with optical yields up to 94 %ee. The most attractive feature of the ligands is that they can be used to catalyze reactions in aqueous medium.
In the second part of this thesis, ruthenium catalyzed oligomerization of terminal arylacetylene were investigated. Unusual linear trimers were produced with Ru(OAc)
2(dppf) and Ru(OAc)
2(binap) (OAc=acetate, binap=bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl, dppf=1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene) as the catalysts. Highly regio and stereoselective dimeric cis-enyne products were produced with Ru(OAc)
2(PPh
3)(dppm) (dppm= bis(diphenylphosphino)methane) as the catalyst.
