Abstract
Starting in 2009, Investigative Study (IS) will be introduced in the new Senior Secondary School curriculum. This approach of teaching and learning will supplement the traditional chalk-and-board approach. Pilot studies were conducted to collect experiences. A resource package was developed from pilot studies to help teachers prepare lessons using this new approach. Various practical teaching examples were included in the package, which was designed to address various teaching goals of teachers and backgrounds of students. An investigation was conducted to find out the students’ responses to the resource package. While the package was suitable for the majority of students, it was unsuitable for some band 3 students. Resources specific to their needs should be created.
