Abstract
Digital image watermarking or data hiding is a process that embeds information into a host image to form a watermarked image. In most of the watermarking or data hiding applications, a digital logo or authentication information is embedded to prove the ownership of the digital media. Recently, digital watermarking and data hiding is being used in other new applications.

In this thesis, we propose some algorithms that can work with some existing digital watermarking and data hiding methods to provide watermarked images with improved visual quality. We also investigate new applications using digital watermarking methods.
