Abstract
Adapting the post-colonial studies' approach of "native informant perspective" , this paper analyses the special role of Chinese-Han language writers (including both "national minorities" and Han writers) in the construction of the discourse of "multi-nationalities China", that is, in bringing heterogeneities into the Han culture and constructing, using the Han language, an unknown story about China. This study looks into two sets of literature: "Minzu Wenxue" , whose subject is national minorities, and "Xibu Wenxue" , whose subject is Hans living in the interior.
