Walter R. Kent Collection

The collection was received from the estate of late Walter R. Kent owing to the efforts of his Co-Executors. Walter R. Kent was a banker, also a map and photo collector. The collection focuses on aviation and cartography, including maps, posters, books, and aircraft models he collected throughout the years. It contains over 250 maps from the 18th – 20th centuries, spanning from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Shanghai, to Hong Kong. The maps have reflected the traces of his life from his birthplace Brooklyn, New York, then his 49 years in Asia and taking Hong Kong as his home after retirement.
