Abstract
For the last few decades, there has been an increasing demand for renewable energy due to
depletion of fossil fuels and worsening climate conditions. Wind energy, a popular source of
renewable energy having the capability of operating regardless of the time of the day, has very
largely been adopted by the government to reduce the carbon footprint. The ever-increasing
need of clean source of energy has further opened an endless number of
opportunities in market to do business today. There have been numerous innovations that have

There have been numerous innovations that have
led to the advancement of wind turbines, eventually leading to the development of small wind
turbines - horizontal axis and vertical axis rotors. Currently, the small wind turbine market
stands at a mark of about US $1 Billion Dollars and it is increasing at a Compound Annual
Growth Rate of 22.3%. Increasing market growth has opened the door to many applications
for small wind turbines. This study focuses on designing and simulating a new type of vertical
axis wind turbine (hybrid of 3 rotor Darrieus Type-3 bucket Savonius Type) and developing
a market strategy towards creating its niche in remotely situated telecom base station market.
The study follows the discussion of newly designed and simulated technology followed
by the business plan of action consisting of market, competitor, sales & promotion analysis
and financial modelling for the proposed business of High Efficiency Hybrid Vertical Axis
Wind Turbine for Telecom Base Stations in remote areas.
