Abstract
The use of graphene materials has attracted great attention in recent years with surface
modification and interlayer distance manipulation indicating further development potential.
The potential application of graphene-based material in blood purification and water
desalination pre-treatment has inspired the development of the two products in this study --
Perfusor and WaterGraph. A Perfusor was designed to remove toxicants while maintaining
nutrients during blood purification and a WaterGraph was designed with low infrastructure and
energy requirements to reject heavy metals. Based on the results of research groups, I focused

Based on the results of research groups, I focused
on the business development of the two projects, including but not limited to managing and
assisting the project flow, drafting the business plan, preparing pitch books, building financial
models, negotiating with interested parties and participating in business competitions for
promotion. Market research by analysis of specific market conditions, prospective market size
and future market potential were conducted. It was discovered that both products could
penetrate their niche markets. Perfusor could enter the Chinese blood purifier market with 90%
patents underserved and have a market potential of HKD $160 billion in 10 years in China.
WaterGraph could first act as adaptable desalination membrane protectors with a future annual
market size of at least HKD $550 million. To raise funds, we participated in a number of
business and entrepreneurship competitions and won prizes around HK $285,000. Additionally,
the company was registered in Hong Kong and Guangzhou for future project implementation.
With proper planning and future capital injection, the two projects could reach their breakeven
in 2021.
