Abstract
In recent Chinese history, a significant social movement took place in the 1960's: the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). A unique age cohort of the population, called as Lao Sanjie, was caught at time. The history event of the Cultural Revolution, and the movement of up to the mountain and down to the village of it, played a most important role in the Lao Sanjie people's careers and life trajectories. For many years, the scholars (both abroad and in China) paid much attention to the Cultural Revolution. However, little attention was paid to the Lao Sanjie. The present study mainly use one of the ethnographic method ---- interview, to collect first hand data. Based on such data, the author will examine whether the Cultural Revolution affected the Lao Sanjie people's late life. To what extent and how the Cultural Revolution affected the Lao Sanjie people's late life. At the same time, the present study will analyze the reasons of the impact still exist. This objectives will be developed by portraying the impact at three aspects of Lao Sanjie's late life: (1) career development and life quality. (2) family building experience. (3) political attitude.
